Project “Peaceful Communication – Language of Life (NVC)” training in Oslo

The Social Integration Center together with the Lithuanian Probation Service and Norwegian partners – Empathos Partners are participating in the new project “Peaceful Communication – Language of Life (NVC)”! This is a unique project aimed at ensuring the well-being of children, youth and their families, also strengthening social integration in Lithuania by applying and implementing the certified NVC methodology.

A visit to the city of Oslo in the Kingdom of Norway took place on August 10, 11 and 12 of this year together with the project “Peaceful Communication – Language of Life (NVC)”!

On the 10th of August we started training at the Deichmanske Library in Oslo together with our lecturer in peaceful communication – Gert Skoczowsky-Danielsen and with our colleagues in Lithuania on the Zoom platform! We also listened to the lecturer, Jannicke Heyerdahl-Larsen, a lecturer from the Norwegian Metropolitan University. Together, they presented what peaceful communication (NVC) is and how it is done in practice, as well as the benefits.

August 11th was very special, with Muditadevi Bente Kjønstad, a Buddhist, a peaceful communication specialist, who spoke to us about empathy and empathic communication at the Sagene Community Center. Also, Nina Wroldsen and Berit Follestad, authors of “Using Restorative Circles in Schools”, spoke about the importance of restorative communication and how it is put into practice in schools.

On the 12th of August we finished training with Gert Skoczowsky-Danielsen at the Deichmanske Library in Oslo and travelled home.

Through the Zoom platform, we continue training with Gert Skoczowsky-Danielsen.
