The aim of the project – ensuring the well-being of children, youth and their families and strengthening social integration in Lithuania by applying and implementing the NVC methodology developed and certified by a foreign state.

Project objectives:

1. Expert training for the application of NVC methodology in Lithuania.

3. Colorization of NVC methodology.

Gert Skoczowsky-Danielsen (Norway) – CEO and Founder of Empathos Partners, NVC trainer certified by The Center for Nonviolent Communication (USA) will train 6 experts from Lithuania on how to apply NVC when working with project target groups.

During the implementation of the project, the Peaceful Communication (NVC) methodology will be developed and adapted in Lithuania from abroad (Norway) for work with children and young people with high-risk behavior and (or) from unfavorable environments, i.e. delinquent behavior in children who have already committed violations of any kind of legislation, children with special educational needs (including children with behavioral and emotional disorders, mental and / or mental disabilities, or children with developmental disabilities); as well as the family of the child / young person (including the extended family); child’s environment: families, child care institution, school, local community, child / young person’s friends.

The project is aimed at:

improving prevention – reducing domestic violence and crime. Training a child / young people, a peaceful technique for families, reduces the likelihood of conflict and the expressions of aggression associated with a reduction in environmental violence;

specialists in many fields can apply the NVC methodology in their work, which creates preconditions for the growth of the popularity and demand of the NVC methodology in Lithuania;

during the implementation of the project, specialists will be trained, who will be able to apply the NVC methodology when working with children / young people and their families in their institutions. The NVC methodology will complement the services with a variety of methods, contribute to the solution of problems of the child / young person and their family, which cannot be solved by other working methods or support mechanisms. This will contribute to improving the quality and accessibility of services and ensuring the well-being of the child / young person and their family. Trained professionals will be able to apply the NVC methodology when working with children / young people and their families and at the end of the project.

Moreover, during the project implementation 3 main topics of NVC methodology will be covered: NVC model, empathy development and family / upbringing. NVC also helps to solve other relevant societal problems: addictions, aggression, conflict management, etc.

The project is funded from 2014-2021 the EEA Financial Mechanism “Health” Program funds.
